The perks of being a wallflower / Review

Dear Friend

I'm writing this post in the way Charlie used to write about his life, about what happened to him, in honor to him.
Last night i finished the book, and after cry for 5 minutes, not because it was a terrible book, on the contrary, i cried because i thought it was beautiful, i had this warm feeling, the kind of feeling that you have after reading something that is going to stick with you forever.
I never felt so related with a character, specially with a character that has nothing to do with me or my life. But still, Charlie would be with me for the rest of my life -i hope- because that's the kind of person that i would love to have as a friend.
If you have the opportunity of read this book, do it, if you could see the movie, well do it too, because both were beautiful.

Charlie is a freshman. And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it.

Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mix-tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.

But Charlie can't stay on the sideline forever. Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a deeply affecting coming-of-age story that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up

From the movie

But before i finish this, i wanted to share with you what made me cry:

"So, if this does en up being my last letter, please believe that things are good with me, and even when they're not, they will be soon enough. And I will believe the same about you"

  2. Hello! I'm so glad I've stumbled upon your blog as I'm yet to find any bloggers who have been talking about this film. How amazing was it? I cried on quite a few occasions, once when he was just sitting on his own near the start. I'm such a cry baby! And the costuming was awesome, it was all the good aspects of early 90s fashion :D
